We are ALL artists....

Self-Portraits in Grade 4

This was an interesting art lesson! We created these 'exaggerated' self portraits using; black construction paper, crayola project glue, and chalk pastels. The observation we made about the glue was this....after the glue dried, the crayola project glue left a much more desirable border for us to colour between with our pastels. The regular white glue wasn't as effective. However, these did turn out beautifully and we have had so many compliments on them!

Every child is an artist....

Grade 4 Owls Are A Real HOOOOOOT!

Wise Old Owls

The Grade 4 students created these handsome owls out of recycled paper and marker. Some of the owls are traditional while other students chose more of a fantasy colour scheme for their art. As you can see, there is a good variety of more realistic looking owls and cartoon or comic looking owls.
A random selection of the student's work can be viewed below.

New Year....New Blog!

Welcome to Mrs. Routledge's Grade 4 Blog!

I am so excited to begin this new adventure called "blogging".

My intentions for this blog are as follows:

  1. To create a place for students and parents to view important information; like homework, special dates and classroom/school events.
  2. Display student work and achievements.

This being my very first post, I would kindly ask for my viewer's patience while I embark on this learning adventure!
